Party support for the national handicraft

On July 24, 2012, the Central Council of the Democratic Party of Uzbekistan “Milliy tiklanish”, faction of the party in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis in cooperation with the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republican Association “Khunarmand” held a practical seminar on “The value of bank loans in the development of family business and national handicraft” in Namangan region.

It was attended by members of the Central Council of the Democratic Party of Uzbekistan “Milliy tiklanish” and factions in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, activists of Namangan regional DPUzMT Council, members of deputy groups from DPUzMT in local Councils of public deputies, leaders of regional, city and primary party organizations, senior officials of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, “Khunarmand” association and its regional offices, craftsmen, entrepreneurs and activists of makhalla.

Participants of the event noted that in our country since independence a lot of work has been done for preserving and increasing spiritual values, traditions and customs of people, rich heritage of great ancestors. Great opportunities for improving this sphere provided the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan of March 31, 1997 “On measures of state support of further development of folk arts and applied arts”. Democratic Party of Uzbekistan “Milliy tiklanish” on the basis of its program regulations, actively promotes the development of all kinds of national crafts, conservation and further extension of “master-apprentice” traditional schools.

In Namangan region as a whole great attention is paid to the development of national handicrafts, continuing traditions transmitted from generation to generation. A joint project of DPUzMT, the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the “Khunarmand” Association for concessional lending activity of national crafts subjects and family business serves a further development of the sphere. It should be emphasized that, based on this project in the first half of 2012 nearly 100 craftsmen and entrepreneurs were granted soft loans totaling more than 2 billion 550 million sums. On this basis, more than 200 new workplaces were established.

Speakers of the seminar discussed issues of allocation of loans and provision of services by commercial banks, using of modern information technologies by banks, benefits provided for craftsmen, briefed with current state of banking system and prospects of its development. Participants of the event also talked about the activities of banking services offered to young families, subjects of family business, college graduates who wish to start a business, women – for doing home based work, benefits of these services and implementation of tasks defined in the State program “Year of the Family”. Issues were also discussed on providing craftsmen in regions with essential premise, organizing trade of national handicraft products on tourist routes, purchase of raw materials and modern equipment, development of national handicraft and organizing in makhallas schools of “master-apprentice” on teaching youth of handicraft secrets, their funding.

Deputies from the Democratic Party of Uzbekistan “Milliy tiklanish” emphasized that the adopted Law “On family business” creates all the necessary legal and organizational conditions for those craftsmen who want to start a family business, the participants were informed in detail about the content and substance of this law. At the end of the event several artisans were presented with certificates of preferential allocation of bank loans.
